Tools for the Horse Barn

My boy, Kodi, preparing for a barn project!
When it comes to selecting your tools, remember this - choosing the right tool will help make your projects easier and faster.
The old saying, "you get what you pay for" really rings true when it comes to tools. It can be really aggravating when a tool breaks when you're in the middle of a project. This usually tends to happen when you are in a bind and you're working by yourself! You then have to drop everything you are doing to go get another one.
Try to buy the best tools that your budget will allow. I know, when you have horses, your budget is already stretched pretty thin! Of course you don't have to run out and buy every tool that we will be discussing here. It's best (and more affordable) to pick up a few tools here and there, or as you need them. This is what I did and I now have a pretty good collection of them.
First we'll take a look at some common hand tools and what they are used for. You can then decide which tools you'll need for your own barn projects. A good start to building your own collection of these tools would be to start with a couple of screwdrivers, some pliers, and a few wrenches. Of course you will definitely need a hammer, too.
You may also find that a small socket set would be a handy addition to your tool box. And if you have tin on your barn you'll definitely need some tin snips! We will also look at the best types of measuring devices to use for your barn projects.
You will also discover how a set of c-clamps and a bench vise can become a couple of your best barn helpers.
I will also show you which de-construction tools I recommend and why I recommend them. And lastly, we will break out the "BIG GUNS" --the POWER tools! We'll take a look at some of the "must have's" for the bigger barn projects.
And remember this, tools are NOT just for horse-MEN!
